2009 Meeting - Commercial Relationships Policy This OMIG commercial relationships policy for authors and presenters is derived directly from ARVO's policy for abstract submission to its annual meeting. The OMIG Board of Directors believes that authors' financial interests in the presentation subject matter should not restrict presentation, but it is the intent of the Board that the audience at OMIG annual meetings be informed when financial interests exist that might result in bias on the part of the authors. It is the responsibility of the First, or Presenting, Author to assure that each Co-author is aware of the Policy and to list on the abstract any relevant commercial relationships. For each submission, the First Author must disclose the name of the firm with which a commercial relationship exists for all the authors on the submission. Each Presenter is to orally state and display on a slide at the beginning of the presentation all applicable commercial relationship codes, as well as the name of the firm(s) with which a commercial relationship(s) exists for the First Author and each Coauthor. Failure to conform with this policy will jeopardize participation in future OMIG meetings. Disclosure Codes: F Indicates if you have received through your employing institution support from a for-profit company, or competing company, in the form of research funding or research materials or services (e.g., protein sequencing) at no cost, such support being the subject matter of your presentation. I Indicates if you are an investor in a company or competing company, other than through a mutual or retirement fund, which provides a product, service, process or equipment which is the subject matter of your presentation. E Indicates if you are an employee of a company or competing company with a business interest which is the subject matter of your presentation. C Indicates if you are, or have been within the last three years, a consultant for a company or competing company with a business interest which is the subject matter of your presentation. P Indicates if you are an inventor/developer designated on a patent, patent application, copyright, or trade secret, whether or not the patent, copyright, etc. is presently licensed or otherwise commercialized, which is the subject matter of your presentation or could be in competition with the technology described. R Indicates if you have received gifts in kind, honoraria or travel reimbursement valued at over $1000 in the last twelve months from a company or competing company which provides a product, service, process or equipment which is the subject matter of your presentation. N
Indicates there is no commercial relationship whatsoever.
