Purpose: To analyze the etiological agents of corneal graft infiltrates in early postoperative period following therapeutic keratoplasty.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of consecutive cases of graft infiltrate occurring within two months following therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty, from January 2007 to July 2011, was conducted.

Results: Fifteen cases of graft infiltrate following therapeutic keratoplasty were analyzed. There were identical etiological agents in 4 cases whereas different etiological agents in 6 cases. The most common etiological agent before penetrating keratoplasty and following keratoplasty was fungus and bacteria, respectively.

Conclusion: Microbiological work-up should be done in all cases presenting with graft infiltrate in early postoperative period following therapeutic keratoplasty.
